Emergency Contact & Vendor Info
Thayer’s 24 hour Emergency Number: 617-354-6480
Concierge Desk: 617-547-7722 (can also assist with vendor dispatching in an emergency)
Any resident is welcome to call Thayer’s emergency number for assistance after hours; residents can also call the front desk in an emergency. The desk can help direct anyone to the Thayer on-call team, or can reach Nick on his personal cell to assist with emergency situations after hours or over the weekend.
Do keep in mind that there is a fee for any labor involved, so owners leasing their units need to clarify how this works with their tenants, as Thayer will need the landlord/owner to approve any associated expenses if it’s not a true emergency that requires immediate attention. Remember that if the issue is unit-specific, the charge is also unit-specific and at an elevated cost (typically 1.5x the hourly rate) for any after hours service calls.
Some examples of emergencies that would necessitate an immediate response are below:
• Flood or active leak – call e-line or front desk and either can help with dispatching a plumber
• Plumbing backup – call e-line or front desk and either can help dispatch a maintenance tech or Drain Doctor
• No heat in the building (multiple units, not unit specific) – call e-line or front desk and either can help dispatch a vendor. If instead this is unit specific, we can direct an owner to a recommended vendor like Duggan.
• Lock out – call the front desk and check if they have a key on file; if not, they can help recommend a locksmith, but owners should plan to call directly as most locksmiths are payment on delivery.
• Fire or safety issue – call 911, then call e-line or front desk to report the emergency
• Power outage – call e-line or front desk and either can help dispatch an electrician
